Sustainability Model

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future. From the 17 SDGs it is most efficient for us to focus on 6 primary SDGs.

SUSTAINABILITY AT GROLINK

Our strategy is focused

on growing sustainable vegetable seedlings, in a state of the art environment, by an engaged and empowered team.

Sustainable stewardship is integral to GroLink’s culture. The combination of environmental and societal resources are fundamental to GroLink as a benchmark vegetable seedling nursery, small plant raiser and key link in the horticultural supply chain. We aim to streamline resources, whilst enhancing the viability of our business for generations to come and build the foundations for future expansion.

Optimum yields, waste mitigation, traceability, preserving land usage and supporting delivery of a safe and healthy product to the end consumer is core.

Where viable, GroLink considers a circular model under the foundations of best use, reduce, reuse and recycle.

Focus is led by three primary sustainability pillars: sustainable products, within a sustainable planet, and sustainable society. Under each pillar key Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) focus on:

Sustainable Products: Industries, Innovation and Infrastructure and Responsible Consumption and Production.

Sustainable Planet: Sustainable Management of Water and Life on Land.

Sustainable Society: Decent Work and Economic Growth and Partnership for Goals.

Sustainable Products

Sustainable Products focus on SDG 9: Industries, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production. At the core of agriculture, as a leading vegetable seedling nursery, GroLink produce a product with relatively low environmental impact. For generational success, it is paramount however to drive progressive thinking around agricultural technology, food safety, traceability, material inputs, waste mitigation and ensuring efficient and enduring capital investments.

Sustainable Planet

Sustainable Planet focus on SDG 6: Sustainable Management of Water and SDG 12: Life on Land. Water is one of our most precious resources and an essential component for vegetable seedling production. GroLink is fortunate to have consistent water sourcing, however we continue to assess for water savings and water quality improvements within our production processes.

Sustainable consumption and production aims at doing more and better with less. With quality forefront, where applicable elements are evaluated to support a circular business model, preserve biodiversity and ensure a healthy viable ecosystem.

Sustainable Society

Sustainable Society focus on SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17: Partnerships for Goals. We need to Gro Together – our culture is built on our FAIR values and respecting and enhancing the health, safety and wellbeing of our teams, customers and industry partners. A sustainable society includes caring for our environment, staff, families plus our regional and vegetable communities. It is vital we collaborate and contribute to communities and the next generation where we live and work.
